Two nights at Stevens Pass
A late storm, a borrowed four-season tent, and a roll of slide film that came back better than I deserved. Notes from a cold weekend that doubled as a battery test.

The forecast said light snow. It meant fourteen inches overnight and a tent that needed digging out twice.
The battery test
I took three phones running Ridgeline in airplane mode, one in a chest pocket, one in the pack lid and one in the tent. The chest pocket phone lost 18 percent over two days. The pack lid phone was dead by Saturday night. Warmth beats everything.
The film
One roll of slide film, metered by hand in flat light. Twenty-eight of thirty-six frames came out, which is better than I deserved.
